Here’s how to enable yourself to enjoy wearing a pair of boots that fit perfectly.

Relieving problems to get your boots to fit before your D of E trip:

  1. Foot still sliding up and down in boot - Buy a footbed to place in your boot.

Relieving problems to get your boots to fit during your D of E trip:

  1. Pressure point pain on the top of your foot - Bypass the area during tying your laces by skipping a few of the lace loops around the troublesome area.
  2. Foot sliding in the boot - Put on an extra pair of socks or wear thicker socks.
  3. Heel slipping in the boot - Increase the size of your heel with a bandage. You could get an elasticated tubular bandage from your medical kit and double/treble it by folding the tubular bandage inwards to make it shorter. Put this over the heel area to fatten the heel area. This might be preferred to putting extra socks on your feet as it avoids cramping the front of the boot.
